Engineered for Resilience: Solutions for Rail & Heavy Industry

Rail transport and heavy industry represent a vast high-end equipment manufacturing sector, characterized by complex systems spanning the entire industrial chain. In typical scenarios, the inspection of relevant components cannot be conducted in clean, sterile environments; instead, it must contend with challenges such as dust and oil contamination. Consequently, our probes are specifically engineered to thrive under these demanding conditions.

At VISION3D, we are dedicated to developing high-performance, versatile products. Our systems boast exceptional durability and maintain consistent metrological stability even in complex environments—a testament to our relentless pursuit of technological excellence and our unwavering commitment to quality.

Our Cases

Automated 3D Inspection for Railway Draft Sill and Bolster

The draft sill and bolster assembly (known in the industry as "Qian-Zhen-Huan") is a critically stressed structural component of railway rolling stock with an extremely complex geometry. Structurally, it comprises the buffer beam assembly, bolster assembly, and draft sill assembly. Upon completion of manufacturing, more than 20 items—including dimensional accuracies and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) parameters—must be inspected.

Precision Inspection of Railway Bearing Saddles

With the rapid advancement of high-speed rail, the trends toward higher speeds and heavier loads have imposed stricter requirements on operational safety. The manufacturing precision of critical components—including wheels, rails, and bearing saddles—dictates the safety and stability of train operations. Consequently, rigorous dimensional inspection is mandatory during both production and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) processes.

Automated In-line Inspection System for High-Speed Rail Wheels at Elevated Temperatures

High-speed rail (HSR) wheels are globally recognized as high-tech products with extreme manufacturing difficulty. These wheels are produced through die forging and rolling, involving multiple stages such as sawing, forging/rolling, heat treatment, and precision machining. Such complex forming processes pose a significant challenge to the stability of automated production lines. A critical objective is how to improve the yield rate while achieving precise control over machining allowances.
